Winter Getaways with Lemon Tree Rentals
Visit Lake Garda in winter and enjoy the same beautiful surroundings but with picturesque snow covering the mountain tops. The winter months mean fewer tourists and give you the chance to explore the towns and incredible lake roads practically to yourself. Endulge in the delicious Italian food that is on offer to warm you up on those crisp winter evenings.
Below are some ideas for what to do in Lake Garda over the winter months. You can visit the festive Christmas markets in some amazing medieval locations, take a refreshing walk through the mountains on a fresh winters morning surrounded by snowcapped mountains, and even see Santa himself!
Within a 90 minute drive you can be in the beautiful fair city of Verona, and in just a couple of hours, or a quick train ride, you can visit the wonders of Venice.
Cable Car, Skiing & Snowboarding, Malcesine/Monte Baldo
Monte Baldo, Late December - March (dependent on snow weather conditions)
For some incredible views over Lake Garda, nothing beats a ride on the cable car from Malcesine to the top of Monte Baldo. It takes you to an altitude of 1760m and on a clear day enables you to see the entire Lake, right down from Peschiera del Garda up to Riva. On the upper section of the cable car ride, the cabin even slowly rotates 360 degrees, making sure everybody captures the spectacular views.
In winter, Monte Baldo offers the opportunity to ski or snowboard with the stunning backdrop of Lake Garda. For any snow enthusiasts it's not one to miss!

Be wooed by a visit to Verona. This relaxed city is often left in the shadow of the bigger Italian cities – but you will be surprised at how much it has to offer. Full of history, Verona was a Roman trade centre which is still visible today, with its ancient gates, walls, buildings and a very grand Roman arena standing in the centre. From late November - December you can visit the huge German-style Christmas Markets that set up in the centre of Verona. The city is lit up with hundreds of lights and the International Crib exhibition is held inside the Arena.
In February the special event of ‘Verona in Love’ takes place. Four days are dedicated to welcome lovers of all ages from all over the world to celebrate Valentines Day in a romantic setting and atmosphere. With the streets decorated and lit up in red, special concerts and stalls organized, love really is in the air!
From Peschiera del Garda or Desenzano, you can drive to the centre of Verona in 30 minutes, or catch the train in just 20 minutes.
Venice is arguably one of the most beautiful, picturesque and unique cities in the world. Renowned for its maze of canals, famous artwork and architecture, just walking around the city, taking in the sights and atmosphere, is entertaining enough.
Every year the Carnival fills the streets and squares of Venice. The festival is world-famous for its elaborate and decorative masks. It’s a really unique experience and a great time to visit the city full of colour, partying and life! The fantastic festival next takes place on 15th February - 25th February 2020.

This atmospheric Christmas Market is held in the medival town of Arco, located above Riva on the North of Lake Garda. It offers the perfect opportunity to enter into the festive spirit surrounded by the snowcapped Italian mountains!

In October in the lead up to Halloween, celebrations take over the theme park every weekend. The horrifying yet unmissable autumn event is full of monsters, skeletons, zombies, vampires, bats and sinister characters of all kinds that have been summoned by Gardaland to celebrate the terrifying occasion!
Over December and January Gardaland opens its doors to offer some winter magic for all the family to enjoy!
