The views are nothing short of spectacular and can be enjoyed from the balconies of every bedroom, the villa’s grand terrace and the stunning pool house. The infinity pool, yoga and wellness room as well as the bar and entertainment area also make the most of these breathtaking views.

Built in 1909, Villa Prestigio is a liberty style villa and has been fully restored to its former glory. At over 800 metres above Lake Como and with no immediate neighbours, the villa is an oasis of calm. The quaint mountain village of Pigra is just 300 metres away and has a few restaurants as well as its own cable car station that runs to the lakeside village of Argegno below.

The Estate

The villa sits on a sprawling four acres of alpine gardens and is spread over multiple floors, including a stunning pool house. There is an elevator between the lobby and upper floors (except uppermost floor).

For truly great Italian al-fresco dining, Villa Prestigio spoils you for choice. Dine under the pergola on the main terrace overlooking the lake; or at the rear of the villa overlooking the gardens; or down by the pool. Just off the main terrace is a hidden garden with fire pit – an incredible spot for aperitivo or summer evening barbecues.

For the kids, big or small, there is an exclusive playground and tree-house area.

Ground Floor

The ground floor is host to a professionally equipped kitchen with casual dining area. There a formal dining room too which in turn leads to the formal drawing room and living room, both of which offer stunning views over Lake Como below.

Guests have full access to the beautifully appointed study and library at the rear of the villa and all the rooms on the ground floor open on to the wrap- around terrace.

Head downstairs to the yoga room and gym, which has been carved out of the cliff-face and provides a breathtaking panorama of the lake from the arched windows. There’s a shower and steam room available here.

First Floor

The first floor is home to three of the 8 bedrooms. The master suite features two private balconies, accessed from the bedroom and the ensuite dressing room and bathroom. This suite enjoys dramatic lake views to the south and sunset views to the west.

There are an additional two bedrooms on this floor: a double and a twin, both with private balconies and an interconnecting bathroom.

Second Floor

The second floor is similar to the first and includes a double suite with ensuite bathroom and private balconies; a master suite with bathroom and terrace and a double and twin room with balconies and interconnecting bathroom.

Third Floor

The third and top floor is grand open space and is designed with entertainment in mind. As well as large lounge areas with TV, music and games systems, there is a pool table here, kitchenette and two stunning roof terraces with incredible views over Lake Como.

The roof terrace bar is the perfect spot to admire sunset when the sky turns deep blue and the lake silver.

The 8th bedroom suite is also on this floor and has its own terrace and bathroom.

Pool House

The pool house is a stunning feature of Villa Prestigio and a wonderful retreat from warm summer days. With full facilities including a chef’s kitchen, a lounge area and more incredible views, while away the day without ever leaving the pool.

The roof garden terrace makes for a wonderful sunbathing sport and the pool is heated. There is a jacuzzi here too – the perfect way to end a perfect day. Please note that air conditioning is supplied in the bedrooms only and by Dyson air-cooling fans.
