Desenzano del Garda
Desenzano is found on the very south-western end of Lake Garda and is the largest town on the Lake. Already during the Middle Ages, Desenzano was an important trading place in Northern Italy and has now developed in to a town filled with elegant shops, bars & restaurants, a wonderful yachting harbour and the sauntering mile-long walk on the "lungolago", along the shores of the lake. Desenzano also offers rich night-life with plenty of discos and bars.
The port located in the centre of Desenzano takes you easily across on the ferry service to Sirmione and Peschiera del Garda, as well as a number of other locations around the Lake. It is located on the Verona - Milan trainline and is an ideal starting point for day trips to Verona, Venice and Milan. You can reach Desenzano by car from Verona Airport in 30 minutes, and Milan Bergamo Airport is just a 1 hour drive away.
